Digvijaya Singh breaks into rural areas of Berasia for LS campaigning

BHOPAL: Congress candidate from Bhopal LS seat, Digvijaya Singh, on Thursday campaigned in the rural areas of Berasia tehsil. He also inaugurated party’s election office at Nupur Vihar in Berasia town.
While addressing public meetings at various place under the Berasia tehsil, he said that powers had been delegated up to the village-level through Panchayati Raj under his rule but Shivraj Singh Chouhan concentrated all the powers in his hands.In Kalara, he asked panchayat representatives whether his regime was better than the BJP regime and they replied in the positive. Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that if there is less than Rs2,000 in your account, banks cut their commission on the money deposited by you in your account and asked who is Modi to take away your money from your account as “commission. He charged the prime minister of making fake promises like depositing Rs15 lakh in everybody’s account, creating 2 crore jobs every year etc, which all turned out to be the “jumlas”.
Singh said that Congress party does not need certificate of nationalism from the BJP. Several Congress leader including Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Baint Singh laid down their lives fighting terrorism. Congress never compromised with terrorism, he asserted, adding Congress government’s, too, carried out surgical strikes but never made it public for political mileage. Singh began his morning with a visit to Amprapali Enclave. He, then, visited Ahinsa Vihar (a Jain temple) on Ayodhya By-pass road, where he also offered obeisance to Ajit Sagar Ji Maharaj. Addressing a convention of Sahariya tribal at village Dhamarra, he assured that an assistance of Rs1500 would be given to each family of this tribe, which is among the endangered tribes of India. Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had initiated a scheme to provide monthly assistance of Rs1000 to each Sahariya family.
Following this, he left for rural areas with village Kalara being his first stopover, where he addressed a public meeting at Bal Vihar Maidan. He, then, visited village Dhamarra also under Berasia tehsil. Subsequently, he visited village Taravali and offered prayers at Goddess Harisiddhi temple. He addressed another public meeting at Panchmukhi village. He, then, came to Berasia town, where he participatedin Bhagvat Katha and a kalash yatra. He also addressed a public meeting in the town and participated in a convention of Sahariya tribals.
Singh addressed his fourth public meeting during the day at Runaha village. He, then, visited Nazirabad, where he addressed another public meeting. He then visited Gadha Kala village, where he addressed another public meeting. The veteran Congress leader also visited Pipliya Hasnabad village, where he was felicitated by party workers before he came back to Berasia town, where he inaugurated party’s election office in Nupur Vihar. He also addressed a public meeting in the town on Manas Bhavan premises and participated in the convention of Jatav and Ahirwar community.
