BHOPAL: A complaint was lodged against BJP candidate from Bhopal constituency,

Pragya Singh Thakur

, for claiming that Mahatma Gandhi's assassin

Nathuram Godse

was a `patriot' and will remain a `patriot'.



She made this statement in Agar Malwa during a poll campaign in Dewas Lok Sabha constituency on Thursday.

State chief electoral officer VL Kantha Rao said on Saturday that a complaint has been lodged by PV Rajagopal of Ekta Parishad and it would be forwarded to the election commission.

’s statement. The CEO said the district collector had sent a factual report and not recommended any action. The report has been forward to election commission that would decide on the issue.

Meanwhile, Congress also complained against Pragya at Habibganj police station of Bhopal and sought filing of FIR against her for her objectionable statement regarding Godse.
