BJP workers booked for assaulting NCP state president
BHOPAL: Fifteen BJP workers were booked for assaulting the state president of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Madhya Pradesh. Raju Bhatnagar waved a black flag to Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the BJP nominee from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat, during her roadshow on Tuesday.
Cases against BJP workers were registered under various sections of the IPC, including 147 (rioting), 341 (punishment for wrongful restrain), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt).
Bhatnagar said he was upset over Pragya’s remarks against 26/11 martyr Hemant Karkare and that is why he waved a black flag to her.
The case was registered at Koh-e-Fiza police station. Cops detained Bhatnagar to save him from the assault and took him to Jehangirabad police station. Later, he was taken to Koh-e-Fiza police station in the evening, where cases against BJP workers were registered on Tuesday evening.
