COMMON MAN’S PAIN: Police search HD Kumaraswamy’s car at an election checkpost in Channarayapatna taluk on Wednesday
HASSAN: Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy’s SUV was searched by the Hassan police at an election checkpost at Hirisave on Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway in Channarayapatna taluk, Hassan district.
The CM was sitting in the front seat when his vehicle was flagged down by police, who saluted the CM before conducting a search of the Range Rover. Kumaraswamy was heading to Shravanabelagola MLA CN Balakrishna’s home when the vehicle was stopped for the search.
Speaking in Hassan, Kumaraswamy accused the Centre of creating a scarcity of helicopters and deliberately preventing Congress and JD(S) leaders from reaching out to people.
“The BJP government at the Centre has created a scarcity of helicopters so we cannot reach out to people in the state,” Kumaraswamy alleged. “They have issued directions in this regard. It is a pity that such low-level politics is being played out in the state.”
