Whole of Kashmir is ours: Amit Shah
AHMEDABAD: BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday said that there can be no compromise on Kashmir. Beginning a roadshow in Ahmedabad on Saturday, which coincided with the BJP’s foundation day, Shah said: "Jahan hue balidaan Mukherjee, woh Kashmir humara hai. Jo Kashmir humara hai, woh saara ka saara hai. (The Kashmir for which Mukherjee gave his life is ours. The whole of Kashmir is ours)". Shah was referring to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh, the BJP’s precursor. Mukherjee died in Kashmir in 1953.
Shah, who is contesting for the Gandhinagar
Thousands of BJP supporters thronged both roadshow routes to greet Shah, who tossed flower petals regularly at the crowd. Beginning his roadshow in the evening from the Ramji Temple in Ranip, Shah sought the blessing of Swaminarayan sadhus and other religious figures. A number of BJP leaders including Nitin Patel, Pradipsinh Jadeja, and Raman Vora were present.
Shah skipped the last of his scheduled programme of the day; a meeting had been planned with office-bearers of the Ghatlodia assembly constituency in Bopal. Chief minister Vijay Rupani addressed the workers instead.
