CEO: Ensure people are not hassled by Amit Shah’s roadshow

BJP has finalized a plan for a mega roadshow by Amit Shah on March 30, before he files his nomination for the general election on March 30, the Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar collectors have been directed by the chief electoral officer of Gujarat, S Murali Krishna, to ensure that common people do not face any inconvenience.

The directive comes on the heels of the CEO receiving around 10 complaints of public inconvenience during Uttar Pradesh chief minister and senior BJP leader Yogi Adityanath’s public meeting at Prabhat Chowk in Ghatlodia area of Ahmedabad which is part of Amit Shah’s Gandhinagar seat.

The CEO said, "Following complaints from citizens regarding public inconvenience, we have passed written instructions to all collectors to ensure no hassle is caused to common people before giving permission for any roadshow or rallies."

Out of seven assembly constituencies in the Gandhinagar

seat, two are in Gandhinagar while five in Ahmedabad district. Amit Shah will file nomination at the Gandhinagar collector office on March 30.

The BJP has planned a 4km roadshow on the morning of March 30, covering the Naranpura and Ghatlodia assembly segments of the Gandhinagar constituency.

The roadshow will begin at 8.30am. The BJP has directed all MLAs of Ahmedabad city and district to participate at some 25 locations.
