At a public event organised by the society chairmen of Bopal and Ghuma area, chief minister
Vijay Rupani charged the Congress of appeasement politics. Rupani claimed that BJP-led schemes in the state were not designed to favour any particular community or draw out their votes but ensured that all communities are treated as equal.
Rupani was speaking in the context of the 2008 serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad and the AMTS tiffin blasts.
BJP president and Gandhinagar constituency candidate Amit Shah gave the meeting a miss. Rupani said that the BJP government does not discriminate between communities. He added, “The BJP government believes that if Mohammedbhai is poor he gets benefit, and if Mohanbhai is poor he also gets benefits of a scheme.”
