If Modi returns, he will be PM forever, says Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal
Likening Modi to Adolf Hitler, Kejriwal said anyone who questioned his government was abused, threatened and beaten up
NEW DELHI: Urging people not to vote for BJP, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that all patriots should aim to stop the Modi government from returning to power. He alleged: “If BJP comes back to power at the Centre, Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister for lifetime and there won’t be any election in the country.” The CM was addressing a function at the Constitution Club of India to mark the unveiling of a book titled, “Vada Faramoshi”.

Likening Modi to Adolf Hitler, Kejriwal said anyone who questioned his government was abused, threatened and beaten up. “(People from) the minorities are being beaten up and killed without reason. Anyone who dares to question Modi is termed anti-national,” he said.
Referring to a recent incident in Gurgaon where members of a Muslim family were beaten up by a mob, Kejriwal said: “All of this is being done in the name of Hindutva. I am also a Hindu. No religious book advocates violence. Hinduism does not teach it,” he said.
In a democracy, the achievements and work of the government should be debated upon and people should take their decisions accordingly, he said. “Today, the debate is about cows and Hindu-Muslims whereas the real issues are suppressed. It leaves enough room for corruption and wrongdoing (for the government). The country is passing through a very difficult phase,” Kejriwal said.
In the book, “Vada Faramoshi”, the writers, Neeraj Kumar, Sanjoy Basu and Shashi Shekhar, have compiled RTI replies to questions related to the Centre’s functioning.
