VIJAYAWADA
: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and
YSRCP
will release their
poll manifestos
in the city on Saturday. The two main contenders have chosen the auspicious occasion of Telugu New Year, Ugadi, to release the manifestos. Though other political parties released manifestos soon after the poll notification was issued, the
TDP and the YSRCP waited for the Telugu New Year.
TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will release the manifesto at Praja Vedika at Undavalli at about 11.00am on Saturday. Jagan will release
YSRCP manifesto
at 8.45am at state party office at Tadepalli. Both leaders will participate in Ugadi celebrations before releasing the manifestos.
According to sources, the YSRCP will harp on its Navaratnas that include free health and education for the poor and minimum support price for farmers, besides extending health insurance cover to all families with an annual income of less than Rs 5 lakh.
The
TDP manifesto
focuses on welfare schemes like Ryotu Bharosa, Pasupu Kumkum, Chandranna Bheema, besides extending support to women, youths and weaker sections and minorities.
The YSRCP earlier accused the TDP of stealing its Navaratnas to announce pre poll sops to people.
The manifestos were prepared by party senior leaders after several rounds of deliberations with different stakeholders.
