It’s like beating someone and saying sorry: Lalu on PM

RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Wednesday said PM Narendra Modi’s reaction on Dadri incident and cancellation of Ghulam Ali’s concert in Mumbai is like saying sorry after thrashing someone. “What kind of breaking silence is this? It’s like thrashing someone and then saying sorry. Is it proper?” Lalu said in reaction to Modi’s statement to a Bengali daily that both the incidents were “unfortunate and undesirable” and that the opposition was indulging in “pseudo-secularism” and “politics of polarization”.

PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Wednesday said PM Narendra Modi’s reaction on Dadri incident and cancellation of Ghulam Ali’s concert in Mumbai is like saying sorry after thrashing someone.
Lalu said it is the BJP and RSS leaders’ habit to say something in the evening and take a U-turn the next morning. “They are all the same, be it Narendra Modi of BJP or any other RSS functionary,” he said.
Reacting to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s fresh assertion for review of the existing reservations policy, Lalu said Bhagwat’s moustaches did not have so much strength that he could end the reservations facility for the backwards and dalits. “Int se int baja denge (Will break brick by brick),” he said.
Addressing a meeting of distinguished people at Gokul Atithi Bhavan in Gorakhpur on Tuesday, Bhagwat once again stressed the need to review the existing reservations policy. “The benefits of reservations could not reach the intended people,” he said. Hitting back at the RSS chief, Lalu said, “Bhagwat is a Brahmin and will scrap the reservations by any means.”
RJD chief asked Modi to get Bhagwat removed from the top RSS post if he (PM) is a well-wisher of the dalits and backwards. “Brahmins have strong hold on RSS. If you (Modi) are a real well-wisher of the backwards, get Bhagwat removed from the RSS top post,” Lalu asked the PM. Criticising Modi for his “delayed reaction” on Dadri episode, JD(U) national president Sharad Yadav on Wednesday said, “ PM’s reaction on Dadri lynching has come after a long gap since the brutal incident.”
