AMRITSAR: SAD candidate from Amritsar (East) constituency Bikram Singh Majithia has asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take action against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Navjot Singh Sidhu for allegedly instigating his supporters.
Talking to mediapersons, Majithia alleged, "Sidhu's supporters and a local councillor had blocked the road after he had crossed it to visit the residence of former Congress councillor who had joined the SAD."
He said he had asked the ECI to take notice of the alleged intimidation of his workers and take appropriate action.

"People had also submitted representations to the ECI, highlighting how Navjot Sidhu had passed extremely insulting remarks against the Brahmin community besides misbehaviour with a woman sarpanch," Majithia alleged.
In reply to a question about AAP's national convener Arvind Kejriwal's claims that the party was proceeding towards a majority, Bikram said, "Kejriwal had claimed the same in 2017 asserting the party would bag 100 seats. It had got only 20. The vote share of AAP has come down from 23% in 2017 to 7% in 2019 and will further go down now."
