Alliance tallies update across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at different paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats mark the majority in a 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 won and 105 leads, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all leads and no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, with a tally of 179 comprising 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Puducherry's 30-seat assembly requires 16 for a majority, and NDA is leading in enough seats to cross that mark, carrying a tally of 18 with 13 won and 5 leading. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF holds a tally of 87 across the 140-seat house, with 68 won and 19 leading, well past the majority mark of 71 if those leads hold. LDF is trailing with 30 won and 6 leading, giving it a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
