Suri MLA won’t vote
Suri's Trinamool MLA Swapan Kanti Ghosh has decided not to vote on Sunday. "I see no point in going to Suri to cast my vote when political violence is going on even under EC watch. I do not want any stress. I will stay in Salt Lake and rest. I do not want to get caught in any controversy. Now, Birbhum is in the headlines for political violence and I dislike violence," said Ghosh, adding the EC should have been much more strict with Anubrata Mondal. tnnGhosh felt that there is no point in voting when politics is controlled by corrupt elements and said for them he felt suffocated in Trinamool. "I am sure that Trinamool will win the polls, but soon there would be voice of dissent, as there would be difficult to curb the growing discontent. It will be much more difficult for Mamata Banerjee to control the hoodlums, who are working for her party during the polls. None is giving her a heed." Right now Ghosh is busy with his new business project of china clay and soon he is planning to launch a Bengali magazine, so that he remains pre-occupied with things beyond politics. The magazine will have sections ranging from politics to recipies and there would be special attention for women.
He has plans for its circulation not only in Bengal, but also in Tripura, Assam, Jharkhand and Bihar. He has also thought of a celebrity editor. But is there any chance of his returning to politics, Ghosh smiles and says that he will keep tab on the situation for the next two years and if democracy returns he will be back. "But I don''t think that the quagmire will be removed by that time."
