Assault charge - BJP leader accused of intimidation

KOLKATA: Campaign advisor of Manicktala BJP candidate Sunil Roy has registered a complaint of intimidation and physical assault by the leader and his aides.
The complainant, who runs her own PR company , was assigned to design Roy's election campaign. She complained that she had an argument with Roy on Saturday over her work hours. While Roy insisted that she works for seven hours for the campaign, the lady refused since her contract was only for five hours.
Though she offered Roy to return the money that she had taken as advance, an enraged Roy , along with his aides, reportedly cornered and roughed her up inside the party office.
“I am a fan of Modi and a diehard supporter of BJP . That is the reason why I took up the job.We were doing our job quite honestly . The contract clearly stipulated our work hours but Roy started making unreasonable demands. A scuffle ensued, he called his accomplices and they beat me up,“ alleged the lady .
In a counter complaint, Roy alleged her of cheating and embezzlement of funds. Deputy commissioner of police (eastern suburban division) Dhrubojyoti Dey confirmed that both the FIRs had been lodged and an investigation has started.
