AIADMK leader J Jayalalitha alleged that
DMK has moved the court to seek a ban on her party manifesto that was drafted keeping in mind the welfare of people.
Addressing a large gathering at Vedal village near Arakkonam in Vellore district on Tuesday , Jayalalithaa said, “If anyone opposed our party manifesto, it means they are not concerned about development schemes for people.
DMK has approached the court seeking a ban on AIADMK's manifesto.They are the enemies of common man.“ When contacted, DMK's legal wing representatives were non-committal Leaders of DMK, PMK and the Vijayakanth front have criticised her government and her party. “Now, they have stopped making allegations against me and have begun talking about our manifesto,“ she said. “They are claiming Jayalalithaa will cheat the people,“ she said. “But, you all know, that I will think not hundred times, but thousand times before making a promise. I will give an assurance only if I can do it.“ She assured that she would implement all the schemes in the manifesto.
Asserting that the DMK Congress front was an alliance of corruption, Jayalalithaa said the two parties had indulged in several scams such as AgustaWestland chopper deal, Common Wealth Games, coal and the 2G spectrum scam and urged people to turn them away when they came canvassing for votes.
The DMK government laid the foundation stone for the Combined Water Supply Scheme, but it was her government that implemented it at a cost of Rs 1,300 crore, she said.“We are yet to supply water to certain pockets of Vellore Corporation and 37 rural habitations due to delay in getting permission from the NHAI to lay pipelines across the national highways. It is not our fault,“ she added.
