COIMBATORE: BJP candidate in Coimbatore South constituency Vanathi Srinivasan's car was allegedly attacked by AIADMK men on Sunday afternoon. The windshield of the car was broken in the attack.
When Vanathi, who is also the party’s state vice-president, visited the Town Hall to attend a programme, the alleged AIADMK men gheraoed her.
"They used fowl language against me and blocked my SUV. When I got into another vehicle, the AIADMK men blocked that too. They broke the vehicle’s windshield," Vanathi said, adding that she had registered a complaint with police.
When asked what could be the reason for the attack, she said, "I don’t know the reason. The AIADMK men were shouting that how we could come to R G Street where AIADMK councillor Adi Narayan's office is situated."
The attack happened after BJP cadres had started spreading a message that AIADMK men had been distributing cash in the constituency.
