Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who was scheduled to visit Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala on May 10 and 11 cancelled his trip citing poor health.
He said on Twitter that he has been running a fever since Sunday and the doctor had advised him to rest for two days. On Monday, a day before Rahul's visit to Karaikal, former Union minister of state V Narayanasamy received a letter, which issued a death threat to Rahul.
Puducherry police said the threat was directed more at Congress leaders than Rahul.
