DMDK leader Vijayakant probably had a very busy Saturday night. That could be the only explanation for the loss of his sense of humour in his second live Twitter chat with voters on Sunday. He didn't have a single smart comeback or punchline for eager tweeple who were hoping for some Sunday morning entertainment.
The previous Sunday, May 1, Vijayakant held his first live online chat with voters and was the talk of the Twitter world when he answered every question with wit and aplomb. When someone asked him what his first signature would be if he won, he said that of CM.
This Sunday though, his answers were bland yeses, nos and is that sos.
Questions on declaring Abdul Kalam's birthday as Students' Day, the EC's role and even fawning comments from fans received terse one-word answers. `How are you planning to manage diplomatic relationships when you are not able to control your temper in public,' asked one user, to receive `wait and see' in response. He skipped quite a few questions and chose to answer queries related mainly to corruption, water scarcity and freebies.
When one user asked why his wife Premalatha, a fiery orator who is leading the campaign, did not get a seat, Vijayakant replied: “It is my wish“.
