Chennai: Differing from his cabinet colleague Piyush Goyal's comment on Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa being inaccessible to Central ministers, Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu in Coimbatore said he had never faced such problems in the last 22 months of the NDA government. Naidu said that he met Jayalalithaa twice, and his meetings with her were successful.
Addressing the media after a meeting with the traders of Coimbatore at the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Venkaiah Naidu said, “That may be their (Piyush Goyal's) experience.
I don't want to join them. I have met Madam Jayalalithaa twice, discussed issues, and I have conveyed it to the members of the gover nment.“
Naidu, who was in the city to be a part of an event at an engineering college, met party work ers in the evening and motivated candidates from constituencies in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and Nilgiris. He said, “People have seen Amma (Jayalalithaa) and Ayya (Karunanidhi) government, now it is time to see a Bhaiyya government.Narendra Bhaiyya government.“
While Naidu subtly attacked Jayalalithaa, he took on the DMK and said that the party, like the Congress, was following dynasty politics. “It started from the father, then passed on to the son and daughter, and then to the rest of the family,“ he said.
