Trichy: NDA is as strong as DMK, AIADMK or DMDK-PWF in the state and will face the election confidently, said Union minister of state Pon Radhakrishnan in the city on Tuesday.
He was in the city to oversee the arrangements for party's rally to be addressed by BJP president Amit Shah at Military Ground on Wednesday.
The BJP will highlight the misgovernance of the ruling AIADMK and DMK in its election campaigns. Amit Shah will introduce all the 234 candidates in the meeting.
While BJP will contest in 140 seats, the rest has been allocated to its allies - Indhiya Jananayaka Katchi (IJK), All India Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam, Kongunadu Jananayaga Katchi of G K Nagaraj and other parties.
On the death of 2 people at the public meeting of chief minister J Jayalalithaa at Virudhachalam on Monday, he said that the election commission must probe whether additional people were forcibly brought to the venue to show strength.
"The Election Commission which regulates on several other aspects should also regulate on the number of people to be allowed for public meeting," he said.
