Dindigul: Former Minister Natham Viswanathan, who kicked-off his campaign from his designated constituency of Athoor in Dindigul district, predicted that he would win with a 50,000 vote margin, even before knowing who is opponent was, adding that AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa had given him the constituency after commanding him to develop it on the same line as Natham.
At Sithaiyankottai Lakshmipuram, a large number of women voters welcomed Viswanathan, where he campaigned in an open vehicle. Later, speaking to the voters, he said that he was not new to this region and had toured it more than a 100 times, providing various welfare measures to the people. "This region seems to be very underdeveloped and you don't seem to have enjoyed any infrastructure facilities," he said.
He said that people of Athoor should look at his previous constituency in Natham in the same district to see the vast difference in two constituencies. What was once called Natham village has now turned into a city in contrast, he claimed.
