Union minister of state for environment Prakash Javadekar said the Union territory of Puducherry has not developed to its full potential due to poor governance of Congress, DMK, AIADMK and AINRC in the past.
Launching the party's website on Saturday, he said the Congress government brought the textile mills under the National Textile Corporation assuring modernization of sick units and generation of employment for the local youth.
However, the government closed the units and failed to provide salaries to the workers and other staff members.
He said the people reposed faith on the AINRC government but the government miserably failed in all fronts. It failed to fill up teacher vacancies in schools, and to launch concrete schemes to promote Puducherry as a major tourist destination, and said that it made backdoor recruitment of workers in government and quasi government sectors. He promised that if BJP assumed power it will ensure 1:30 teacher-student ratio in government schools.
He came down heavily on the Congress-DMK combine listing out a series of scams exposed during their tenure in the centre including 2G spectrum and coal block allocation and irregularities in the conduct of commonwealth games.
He said AIADMK promised freebies in its poll manifesto in an effort to keep the electorates like slaves. If people were given employment they will lead a dignified life, he said.
He further charged that the AIADMK government implemented all central government schemes under its banner to create a mirage that all were state government schemes.
He said Union home minister Rajnath Singh will visit the Union territory of Puducherry on May 12 and party president Amit Shah on May 13. He said the Union government has come forward to provide cattle feed to the people to prevent them from clearing forest bushes.
He said there were several reasons for forest fire and added that people near the forest region might have set bushes on fire to raise feed for their cattle.
