Control room and web casting for election a huge success in Thiruvanathapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The

control room

and

web casting

implemented by district administration for assembly elections turned out to be a huge success. Hundreds of employees from department of revenue, survey, KELTRON, IT@ school were deployed to run the control room led by deputy collector (elections) Sheeba George and deputy collector trainee Savitha.

The control room monitored activities like web casting, SMS, observing sensitive booths and problem solving in polling booths. The control room was also instrumental in updating polling percentage separately for men and women, said district collector Biju Prabhakar.

Sensitive booths were observed through surveillance cameras. The images were stored in state data centre at Technopark. Akshaya team did the webcasting and SMS updation was done by IT mission.
