PALAKKAD: The Pattambi police have started investigation into the complaint filed against UDF candidate in Pattambi Assembly constituency C P Mohammed for allegedly paying 'cash for vote' to a house wife during a house visit at Edappalm in Vilayoor grama panchayat on May 4, 2016.

The sub inspector of police, Pattambi station, L Mohammed said that the case on the complaint is filed under Indian Penal Code section 17, B(1), IRW 171E etc.

The complaint was filed on Thursday by P M Vasudevan, chief election agent of the LDF candidate Mohammed Mohasin, who had produced the video clippings, the SI said.

Meanwhile, C P Mohammed denied the allegation and said that he had only sympathized with the cancer patient .
