When will CBSE release second board exam results? Here's what we know so far
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 10 second board examination results shortly, on the official website, cbse.gov.in. Once released, students will be able to access their provisional marksheets online through the official CBSE result portals using their login credentials. The examinations were conducted from May 15 to 21, 2026.
The second examination cycle was conducted as part of CBSE’s revised two-board-exam system introduced from the 2026 academic session.
The second phase of the Class 10 board examinations was introduced for the first time this year under CBSE’s new examination format. The revised system allows students to get another opportunity to improve their performance or clear subjects in which they were unable to pass during the main board examinations held earlier in the year.
Under the new structure, the first board examination conducted in February remains compulsory. The second phase is optional and gives students a chance to appear again in a maximum of three subjects. CBSE has also allowed students to retain their best scores between the two examinations.
The move was introduced to reduce pressure linked to one final examination and to provide more academic flexibility to students.
The second examination cycle saw a massive response from students across the country. According to CBSE data, nearly 6.7 lakh applications were received for the examinations.
More than 5.25 lakh students registered under the improvement category, while over 85,000 candidates applied for compartment examinations. Thousands of students also appeared under both categories.
The examination cycle began with Mathematics papers and later covered subjects including English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Social Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Home Science and several regional languages and vocational subjects.
While CBSE has not officially confirmed the exact date and time for the result declaration, the Class 10 second board examination results are expected to be announced in the second week of June, based on the board’s usual evaluation timeline.
Once declared, students will be able to check their marks through the official CBSE websites and alternate digital platforms.
Students can follow these steps once the result link becomes active:
To reduce pressure on official websites during result hours, CBSE is also expected to provide alternate methods for students to access their scorecards.
Students will be able to download digital marksheets through DigiLocker. The board may also allow students to check results through SMS services in case websites face heavy traffic on the day of declaration.
