In a public notice issued on May 20, the NTA confirmed that the deadline for online submission of application forms has been pushed from May 20 to May 23, 2026. However, candidates will only be able to submit their forms till 10 am on the final day, making the coming hours crucial for applicants yet to complete the process.

It determines eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, admission to PhD programmes, and PhD-only admissions in universities and colleges across the country.
