SSC CGL 2026 notification out for 12,256 vacancies; registration begins at for Group B and C posts
SSC CGL registration: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the SSC CGL 2026 examination, opening the door for thousands of graduates seeking government jobs across India. Along with the notification, the Commission has also started the online application process for recruitment to several Group B and Group C posts in ministries, departments and government offices.
Candidates can now submit their applications through the official SSC portal from May 21, 2026. The recruitment drive is expected to fill nearly 12,256 vacancies, making it one of the biggest government recruitment examinations of the year.
As per the schedule released by the Commission, the online registration process will remain open till June 22, 2026, up to 11 pm. Applicants will also be able to pay the online application fee till June 23, 2026.
The Commission has further announced that candidates will get an opportunity to make corrections in their submitted forms through a correction window that will remain active from June 29 to July 1, 2026.
SSC clarified that the vacancy count released currently is tentative. Detailed category-wise and post-wise vacancy information will be issued separately on the official website in the coming days.
The SSC CGL Tier-I examination is scheduled to be conducted between August and September 2026 in computer-based mode. Candidates who qualify in the first stage will appear for the Tier-II examination, which is tentatively planned for December 2026.
The Commission is expected to announce the results after completion of each stage of the examination process.
