SMVD Gurukul’s Sanskrit short film adjudged best in International Film Festival

Sanskrit Short Film 'Tatvabodh', created by SMVD Gurukul students and sponsored by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, received the Best Sanskrit Short Film award at the inaugural International Film Festival held in Spiritual Growth Centre Katra. The award was received by Dr J C Mehra, Jt. CEO of the Shrine Board, and the event was graced by South Indian Cine Star Suman Talwar and Bollywood Actor/Director Yashpal Sharma. The 2-day festival, organized collaboratively by UFMC and HC&ES, showcased 171 films in over ten languages, with 85 films recognized by the Jury.

JAMMU: A 10-minute-long Educational Sanskrit Short FilmTatvabodh’ presented by the students of SMVD Gurukul and sponsored by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was honoured with an award of Best Sanskrit Short Film in the first ever International Film Festival held at Spiritual Growth Centre Katra from August 5–6.
Shrine Board spokesperson said that The award on behalf of the Shrine Board was received by Dr J C Mehra, Jt.
Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board also Administrator alongwith Principal, SMVD Gurukul."
"The award was given away by the South Indian Cine Star Suman Talwar and Bollywood Actor/Director Yashpal Sharma in the presence of Dr. M. A. Mummugati President, UFMC and Chairman, Nava Karnataka Film Academy," he added.
"The 2-day festival was a collaborative effort between the Universal Film Makers Council (UFMC), Karnataka and Harman Cultural & Educational Society (HC&ES), Jammu which attracted a diverse range of people, from aspiring filmmakers to seasoned professionals."
As many as 171 films were screened from more than ten languages including Sanskrit and 85 films were awarded by the Jury in different categories during the valedictory function of the festival.
While congratulating the performers of the Short Film, Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) SMVD Shrine Board said that from the last 12 years the SMVD Gurukul is paving the way to develop the students with high moral values well accustomed with the modern, traditional, and spiritual education for the strong spiritual-cultural foundation of J&K and have taken important step towards revival of Sanskrit and connecting students with science and spirituality in J&K.
"Under the constant guidance and directions of Chairman, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Manoj Sinha Lt Governor, JKand close monitoring of Mahamandleshwar Swami Vishveshvaranand Giriji Maharaj, Member, SMVDSB the Gurukul has earned a name not only at regional level but has proved its metal at National level.
