PSSSB Junior Engineer recruitment 2026: Registration extended, check application details here
The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has released the Junior Engineer (JE) Recruitment 2026 notice. They are looking for 157 young professionals for the positions of civil, mechanical, or electrical engineers, with a degree or diploma. Candidates can now submit their online applications until the extended deadline of January 20, 2026.
The closing date for paying the application fee has also been extended accordingly. The selection will be done through a written examination followed by document verification. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹35,400 along with other benefits. Total vacancies and engineering disciplines
The PSSSB has released two notifications (Advt. 15/2025 and Advt. 16/2025) for Junior Engineer posts. The total 157 vacancies are divided as:- Civil Engineering: 147 posts
- Mechanical Engineering: 9 posts
- Electrical Engineering: 1 post
Application fee and payment instructions
The application fee depends on the category:- General / Others: ₹1500
- SC / BC (Punjab only): ₹750
- Ex-Servicemen, EWS, PWD, LDESM (Punjab only): ₹500
Salary, benefits, and career growth
Selected Junior Engineers will get a monthly salary of ₹35,400 under Level 6 (7th CPC). Other benefits include:- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Dearness Allowance (DA)
- Travel Allowance (TA)
Selection process
The selection has two stages. First, candidates must appear for a written exam of 120 questions to be done in 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are reduced for wrong answers. The exam has two parts: engineering questions for 80 marks and general knowledge, current affairs, Punjab history, reasoning, English, Punjabi, and ICT for 40 marks. Candidates who pass the written exam will then go for document verification.
