Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has released a new job opening notification for the year 2026 to hire employees at the Tarapur Atomic Power Station, Maharashtra. The giant public sector firm is inviting applications only from Indian citizens and the total number of job vacancies is expected to be 114 (both technical and administrative post).

Depending on the position, a candidate with Class 10, ITI, diploma, BSc, and graduate qualification can apply.

The online application process will begin on January 15, 2026, and will remain open until February 4, 2026. Applications will be accepted only through the official NPCIL careers portal. To apply, candidates must visit the official NPCIL careers website at npcilcareers.co.in. New users must complete the registration process using a valid email ID and mobile number. Once registered, candidates are required to provide their personal details, educational qualifications, and post preferences. The scanned copies of the candidates' photographs, signatures, and necessary documents should be uploaded as per the specified format. A candidate is advised to submit the application only after verifying all the details. A copy of the submitted application should be saved for future reference.

NPCIL vacancy details and eligibility

The recruitment includes posts such as Scientific Assistant, Stipendiary Trainee, Technician, X-Ray Technician, and Assistant Grade-I in different departments. The highest number of vacancies is for Stipendiary Trainee Technician posts. Administrative posts are also available in human resources, finance and accounts, and materials management.

Educational qualifications vary by post. Some roles require a diploma in engineering or a BSc degree, while others require Class 10 or Class 12 along with an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. Assistant Grade-I posts require a bachelor’s degree. Candidates must meet the age limit prescribed for each post. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from reserved categories as per government rules. Detailed post-wise eligibility conditions are given in the official notification.

The selection process will include an online computer-based test for most posts. Candidates applying for technical roles may also have to appear for a skill test or trade test.
