New draft of education policy: PUCA team calls on Dr Manmohan Singh

A delegation of Joint Action Committee (JAC) met former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh at New Delhi. Chairman, JAC, Ashwani Sekhri; president, Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) and other representative of the JAC were the part of the delegation.

CHANDIGARH: A delegation of Joint Action Committee (JAC) met former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh at New Delhi. Chairman, JAC, Ashwani Sekhri; president, Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) and other representative of the JAC were the part of the delegation.
In 45 minutes long meeting, Ashwani Sekhri emphasized on the problems which may arise to the small unaided colleges of India as per the new draft of education policy.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, member of the delegation said that at the end of the June, JAC would hold a Punjab level Education Summit of Stake Holders in which 4 Education Ministers, Secretary, Directors related to the schools, Higher Education, Technical Education, Medical Education etc would participate. After the summit, the report would be submitted to Chief Minister, Punjab and Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi Ji. Nirmal Singh said that brainstorming on the new education policy is required to save the Education Fraternity and small unaided colleges of the Country.
