Meghalaya, Nagaland seek exemption from CUET

Shillong: The MDA-2.0 has urged the Centre to exempt students of the state from the purview of CUET. “Meghalaya has recently undergone a legislative assembly election. This has delayed the state boards and students are facing challenges in attempting the CUET,” CM Conrad K’ongkal Sangma wrote to Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday.

With no proper digital connectivity in many parts of the state, the All Nagaland College Students Union has also made a fervent appeal to the Nagaland government to urge the UGC and Union education ministry to exempt the colleges in Nagaland affiliated to Nagaland University and autonomous colleges from CUET and allow the students to take admissions as per the past practice for the academic year 2023-2024. tnn
