JEE Advanced 2026 registration last date extended to May 5: Eligibility, fees, exam date — full details
The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has extended the last date to register for JEE Advanced 2026 to May 5. Candidates who have qualified in the JEE Main exam can complete their application on the official website before the deadline.
JEE Advanced is the exclusive gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering, science, and architecture programs at the IITs, IISc, and other top institutions. It is conducted annually by one of the seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). This year, it is IIT Roorkee.
Applicants should have appeared for their Class 12 or equivalent exam for the first time in 2025 or 2026, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Those already admitted to any IIT under programmes listed in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority Business Rules 2025 are not eligible to apply.
Additionally, candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2001, with a five-year relaxation for SC, ST and PwD categories. Only two attempts are allowed in two consecutive years.
The exam will be held as a computer-based test. It will have two compulsory papers, each covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each paper will be of three hours.

To apply, candidates have to follow the below steps:
- Visit the official JEE Advanced website jeeadv.nic.in
- Click on the registration link
- Log in using your JEE Main 2026 application number and password
- Fill in personal, academic and contact details
- Upload the required documents
- Pay the application fee online
- Submit the application form
- Download and keep the confirmation page for future use
