Jammu schools closed for 5 days from Oct 29 to Nov 2: Here's why
Jammu schools closed: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has issued a notice on the official website announcing school closures for all classes upto higher secondary levels of the Jammu division. The schools will remain closed from October 29 to November 2, 2024 in view of Diwali festivities. Schools are scheduled to reopen on November 4, 2024, following the Pooja break.
The official notice as issued on the official site of DSEJ states that “ It is hereby ordered that all the Educational institutions Government / Private upto Higher Secondary levels (Summer / Winter Zones) of Jammu Division shall observe Five (5) days Pooja Holidays w.e.f 29-10-2024 to 02-11-2024.”
Candidates can download the official notification by clicking on the link provided here. The 5 day pooja break in Jammu will enable the students and parents to celebrate the festival with full vigour.
Along with Jammu, Tamil Nadu has also announced closure of educational institutions such as schools, colleges, and government offices in the state on November 1, 2024. The State Government has announced November 1 as a public holiday to allow people to celebrate Diwali and return home. Various other states such as Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh have declared holidays in observance of Diwali festivities.
