ICAI declares results of the CA final and the Common Proficiency Test

Simultaneously, the ICAI also announced the results of its Common Proficiency Test (CPT), which was held in December 2015.

James scored 595 out of total 800 marks for a pass percentage of 74.38 to emerge first in the CA final exam, followed by Nagolu Mohan Kumar of Tirupati who scored 572 marks for 71.50%. The third rank went to Avinash Sancheti of Kolkata who scored 566 marks for 70.75%.
Since December 1949, the Chartered Accountancy Examination is held twice in a year.
Out of 42,469 candidates, who appeared for Groups I and II, 2,440 candidates were declared successful for a pass percentage of 5.75 in the CA final exam.
Total 9,764 out of 77,442 students who appeared for Group I were declared successful for a pass percentage of 12.61 while 9,084 out of 75,774 students who appeared for Group II were declared successful for pass percentage of 11.99, an official release issued by the ICAI stated.
The CPT held in December 2015 saw 34,129 candidates out of total 99,077 clearing the test. The success rate was 34.45. The test was conducted at 382 exam centers across India.
