Parents should be especially careful in teaching their children the Assamese language.
He said that until the age of four years, the door of the child’s brain remains open for learning language. "One of the problems of the Assamese language is that people assume that a word will be acceptable later if it continues for a long time, and that is where the language begins to decline."
At the end of the lecture, Dr Goswami interacted with the students and faculty members of the Department and answered the questions raised by the participants. Dr Niva Thakuria and Dr Bhawani Baishya, the President and secretary respectively of the unit, thanked everyone for the successful completion of this lecture programme organised in the memory of Gajendra Nath Thakuria, who is known as the architect of Dakshin Kamrup College.
