Coal India Limited (CIL) will soon close the online application process for Management Trainee (MT) Recruitment 2026. Interested and eligible candidates who have not yet applied can submit their applications through the official website, coalindia.in, before the registration deadline on June 11, 2026.

Through this recruitment drive, Coal India aims to fill a total of 660 Management Trainee vacancies across various disciplines.

Candidates are advised to complete the application process as early as possible to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Eligibility criteria

The educational qualification varies according to the discipline.

• For Rajbhasha posts, candidates should have a Master of Arts (MA) in Hindi with at least 60 per cent marks. Candidates with a bachelor's degree having Hindi and English as core subjects and a minimum of 50 per cent marks are also eligible.
• For Company Secretary posts, candidates should possess a graduate degree in any discipline along with a valid Company Secretary qualification. Applicants must also be an Associate Member or Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).

Selection process

Selection will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

The examination will consist of two papers, each carrying 100 objective-type questions. Every correct answer will carry one mark.

The first paper will include questions from:

• General Knowledge and Awareness
• Reasoning Ability
• Numerical Ability
• General English

The examination will be conducted for a duration of three hours.

There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. Questions left unanswered will not attract any penalty.

Application fee

Candidates belonging to the General (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,180.

However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories, as well as Coal India employees and employees of its subsidiaries, are exempted from paying the application fee.
