CBSE to begin nationwide skill education training for middle school teachers from tomorrow: Check details here

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will initiate a series of capacity-building programmes that will help to enhance the application of Skill Education in classes VI to VIII from tomorrow, February 4, 2026. These training events are in the form of one-day trainings managed by the official Notification No. 14/2026 and will take place in various locations across India. (cbseacademic.nic.in).

The program which will be governed by the Skill Education Division of the Board will equip the school leaders and teachers with the practical tools that they will use to implement Skill Education in the classroom. CBSE has emphasized the relevance of such programmes in improving quality of education and making skill-based learning significant part of the curriculum to learners in the middle schools.

A nationwide plan of teacher training

A number of schools, which are affiliates of CBSE, have been identified as the host to the workshops on capacity building. The month-long events will start on February 4, 2026, and run through the month in institutions around Faridabad, New Delhi, Noida, Ranchi, Ghaziabad and Bengaluru among other cities. The sessions will be held between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm and structured activities will be carried out to make the teachers, vice-principals, and principals participate in the activities.

The trainings will be based on the real-world practice on how to apply Skill Education using NCERT Kaushal Bodh books, which will facilitate practical learning and interdisciplinary skills acquisition in classes. CBSE has made it clear that no fee is charged in the participation of such programmes and the cost of travelling and accommodation is on participants.

Details regarding participation and logistics

The authorities in schools are advised to make sure that they inform the host schools in advance so that they can be well-seated and they can be provided with learning materials and coordination. Participants will also be chosen master trainers who will be used to facilitate the Skill Education practices to a broader circle of teachers once the initial workshops are over.

The participants must carry NCERT Kaushal Bodh textbooks to the workshops to enable them to demonstrate, discuss and simulate classroom exercises.

Educational objectives and policy context

The capacity-building project demonstrates the fact that CBSE still considers Skill Education as one of the major parts of its academic model. Skill Education is now required in the middle school grades, and is aimed at developing critical thinking, problem-solving and practical skills to augment the conventional academics.

CBSE uses these workshops to create a transformational platform in order to enhance the Skill Education understanding and delivery in the classroom. The Board hopes to make sure schools are prepared to transform policy into classroom practice through investment into teacher preparedness and familiarity with curriculum.

Principals, vice-principals and teacher coordinators of schools that are CBSE-affiliated schools are encouraged to spread the programme information to the faculty and to organize the representation at the nearest location. The regional officers and head offices also have the responsibility of providing wide coverage of communication to ensure that no qualified educator is left behind.
