CBSE Class 12 board results 2026 to follow new assessment scheme; read official notice here
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a special assessment scheme for declaring Class 12 results for students studying in West Asian countries. This decision has been taken due to the current situation in the region.
CBSE said that Class 12 board examinations scheduled from March 16, 2026 to April 10, 2026 have been cancelled. The decision applies to CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Exams that were earlier postponed in March 2026 have also been cancelled. The board said the decision was taken to ensure the safety and security of students.
CBSE stated that some exams were already conducted before the situation worsened. However, many exams could not be held.
To ensure fair results, the board has introduced an alternative method instead of relying on incomplete exam data.
How many subjects are involved
The board has identified different groups of students based on how many exams they appeared in:
CBSE said Class 12 has two parts:
Marks are divided as follows:
Practical or Internal Assessment marks will be taken as already awarded by schools.
For theory marks, different methods will be used depending on the student’s case.
Result will be based on that exam. If exam was not conducted, students will get a chance to appear in a supplementary exam in July 2026.
Students who moved from affected countries to another country, including India, will have their results based on their performance in the exams taken at the new centre.
CBSE will provide an online platform for schools to upload marks.
Schools have been asked to upload correct marks within the schedule. No changes will be allowed after submission.
Results will be declared as per CBSE rules
Students who do not meet passing criteria will be placed in compartment category
Compartment exams will be conducted later if required
Other important points
CBSE said the policy is designed to protect students’ academic interests and ensure they are not disadvantaged due to the current situation.
