CBSE opens helpline, email support after Class 12 results row; students can now raise evaluation doubts
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday announced tele-counselling and email support for students and parents after the declaration of the Class 12 board results. The board said the facilities have been started to help students with doubts related to exams, results and evaluation, and to reduce stress during the post-result period.
In a post shared on X, CBSE said students, parents and schools can contact the board through its official helpline and email support system for guidance and clarification.
“Tele-counselling support is available at 1800-11-8004 to support students, parents and schools for important information and regarding exams/results/evaluation and reduce stress,” CBSE said.

The board also asked students to use only the authorised email address for queries. “You may also write to: resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in (Please don't send emails on resultcbse2026@gmail.com as this email has been unauthorisedly accessed),” the board said.
CBSE said it remains committed to helping students through the post-result process. “Students and parents may connect with CBSE through these official platforms for guidance, clarification and assistance. The Board remains committed to listening to students with sensitivity and helping them through the post-result process,” the board added.
Meanwhile, the education ministry on Sunday defended the digital marking process as foolproof, adding that it was not new for the CBSE.
In a press conference, Sanjay Kumar, secretary, department of school education and literacy said, “Some students feel that they should have received higher marks than those actually awarded to them. I would like to emphasise that On-Screen Marking is neither a novel concept nor is this the first time it has been implemented.”
“One advantage of this has been that the mistakes that sometimes used to happen in totalling have been completely eliminated,” he added.
CBSE has also reduced the fee for re totalling of answer sheets. “We will charge a fee of Rs 100 from any student who wishes to view their answer sheets; a separate fee of Rs 100 applies if they wish to have their papers validated; and a fee of Rs 25 applies for the re-checking of the answer to any specific question,” the official said.
