CBSE extends deadline for obtaining Class 12 scanned answer sheets till May 23 after students report portal glitches
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for students to apply for scanned copies of evaluated answer books for the Class 12 Board examinations 2026.
According to an official circular issued by the board, the deadline has been extended from May 22, 2026, to May 23, 2026. The decision was taken after students faced technical problems on the CBSE post-verification portal.
The board said the extension has been provided to ensure that students get sufficient time to complete the application process.
Earlier today, on May 19 itself, several students took to social media seeking clarification about the activation of the answer sheet access portal. Many students reported that the link provided on the official website was either unavailable or showing a “service unavailable” message.
Some students also expressed confusion regarding the difference between obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets and applying for re-evaluation.
CBSE has now acknowledged the technical issue and issued a fresh notice extending the application deadline.

As per the revised schedule:
Students can apply online to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books through the official CBSE portal.
The board has clarified that the current application window is only for obtaining scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets.
Applications for verification of marks, discrepancy reporting and re-evaluation will begin later from May 26 to May 29, 2026.
CBSE had earlier informed students that they should first review their evaluated answer sheets and then decide whether they want to apply for further verification or re-evaluation.
Earlier, CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj had stated that minor errors may occur during the evaluation process because the board evaluates nearly 1.25 crore answer scripts every year.
The board has also clarified that marks may increase or decrease after verification depending on the findings of the expert panel.
