CBSE extends deadline to obtain scanned copies of Class 12 answer books amid website disruptions
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for students to obtain scanned photocopies of their Class 12 board examination answer books after its website faced heavy traffic and technical disruptions over the past few days.
In a circular issued by the board, CBSE said the website had been witnessing “unprecedented traffic” along with several attempts of unauthorised interference, leading to disruptions in services. To ensure that students are not affected, the board decided to extend the application deadline.
The earlier last date to apply for scanned copies of answer books was May 23, 2026. It has now been extended to May 24, 2026.
CBSE said the sudden rise in online activity after the declaration of board results created pressure on its digital systems. The board also referred to unauthorised interference attempts that affected the smooth functioning of the website.
The move comes as thousands of students across the country are applying for verification, re-evaluation, and photocopies of answer scripts after the announcement of the CBSE Class 12 results.
Officials said the extension has been given so that no student misses the opportunity because of technical glitches or delays in accessing the portal.

The board also clarified that students will be given up to two days after receiving the scanned copy of their answer book to apply for the next stage, including verification of marks or re-evaluation.
CBSE advised candidates to make use of the extended timeline and complete the process within the revised schedule. “All terms and conditions mentioned earlier remain the same,” the circular stated.
Students seeking scanned copies of their Class 12 answer books can now apply till May 24, 2026 through the official CBSE portal. After receiving the answer scripts, candidates can proceed with verification or re-evaluation within the stipulated time window.
The development is significant for students planning to challenge their marks before admission processes for universities and professional courses begin in full swing.
Every year, a large number of students apply for scanned answer books to review marking patterns and check for possible errors in evaluation. The process has gained importance as college admissions become increasingly competitive.
With the board now extending the deadline, students who faced issues accessing the website have received temporary relief.
