CBSE CTET admit card 2026 expected to be released soon at ctet.nic.in: Check steps to download here
CTET admit card 2026: The Central teacher eligibility test (CTET) 2026 is set to take place on February 8, with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) marking more than 132 cities as examination centres nationwide. It will be conducted in the pen-and-paper form, and the candidates are advised that admission without the official admit card will be strictly refused. The board has ensured that the most essential information such as the exam scheme, reporting time and qualifying criteria will be available on official portals, ctet.nic.in and cbses.gov.in.
CTET 2026 will be divided into two sessions on a day. Paper 1, the one that will be offered to those seeking to teach Classes 1 to 5, will be issued between 9:30 am to 12:00 noon, with the candidates to report by 7.30 am. The examination gates will be closed at the time of 9:30 am and in no case will the latecomers be admitted.
Paper 2, which aspiring teachers are expected to take in order to teach Classes 6-8, shall commence at 2.30 pm and go up to 5.00 pm, but the gates will close strictly at 2.30 pm so that the same procedures are followed by all. Applicants are encouraged to arrive early enough and go through security and document checks without any hitch.
The number of questions in each paper is 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), 1 mark each, 150 marks in total. The test time is two and a half hours, and no negative marking. One of the biggest parts of the question paper is devoted to child development and pedagogy, with a special importance paid to the teaching aptitude and understanding of the topic and reading skills. The applicants are advised to be both accurate and fast; time management will prove significant to get through the qualifying bar.
To offer high quality in teacher recruitment, the CBSE sets the qualifying benchmarks of CTET 2026. Candidates in the general category have to get at least 60 percent (90 marks), whereas the candidates in the SC, ST, OBC, and PwD category need to obtain 55 percent (82 marks). These marks are used to have eligibility in recruitment as a teacher in central and state government schools, such as in the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and other such schools.
Admit card is a compulsory document and it comprises very important facts like exam centre, reporting time, candidate name, shift, and session. In order to obtain their admit card to take the CTET, they can follow the following steps:
Check everything carefully; report the inconsistencies to CBSE as soon as possible.
As the exam is only several days away, candidates are being encouraged to stay calm, study step by step, and concentrate on conceptual awareness. Candidates are not to be allowed to enter the electronic devices, study material or any other banned items to the exam centre, in order to negotiate the reporting time. The information in the official portals should only be relied on to avoid misinformation.
The CTET 2026 of CBSE will not only assess knowledge on the subject, but also teaching aptitude and pedagogical competence, which will be important in assessing candidates interested in becoming professional teachers. Success will be determined by proper preparation, punctuality and following guidelines.
