GUWAHATI: The Assam State School Education Board will announce the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2026 results on Friday morning at 10.30 am.
The Class X state board examination was held in February.
Students can first access their digital mark sheets through websites or mobile apps from 10:30 AM on Friday, officials said. "For downloading the marks sheet, students will have to enter their Roll and Number in the space provided," read the notification.
"This is hereby notified for information of all candidates who appeared in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2026 conducted by the Assam State School Education Board, Div–I during the month of February, 2026 that their results will be declared through the Results Gazette in PDF format and the Roll Numbers of the candidates who are declared passed will be provided therein," read the notification issued by ASSEB secretary Naranarayan Nath on Friday morning.
More than 4 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, while a record 4.38 lakh candidates had registered for this year’s board exams.
The board did not publish an official merit list of rankholders, but state education minister Ranoj Pegu and board officials later announced Jyotirmoy Das of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Patacharkuchi, in Bajali district, as the state topper. Jyotirmoy scored 591 out of 600 marks.
Four students featured in the top three positions. Akankha Bhuyan of Ambikagiri Rai Chaudhuri Jatiya Vidyalaya, Hawajan, in Biswanath district, secured second place with 589 marks. The third position was shared by Jia Farah Islam of Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Dibrugarh, and Surjit Akhtar of Little Flowers School, Nalbari, with 588 marks each.

For the Class X board exams, 117 new examination centres were added this year, raising the total number to 1,046.
During his election campaign, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that the Class X board results would be declared on April 10, a day after polling for the state assembly election.
