VADODARA: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved an increase of 120 seats in two engineering programs at the Devang Patel Institute of Advance Technology and Research (DEPSTAR) of the Changa-based

Charusat University

of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT).


Both the computer engineering and computer science and engineering branches of DEPSTAR have received permission of increasing 60 seats each.


Last year, CHARUSAT had come up with its new engineering institute for advance technology and research which received patronage from Nadiad-based Devang Patel (fondly known as Devangbhai Ipcowala).


The institute had started offering undergraduate programs in computer engineering, computer science and engineering and information technology with initial intake capacity of 60 seats each in the programs.


DEPSTAR had applied to AICTE for an increase in the number of intake in the seats for the courses of computer engineering and computer science and engineering from 60 to 120 seats in its second year of existence.


These increase in intake of seats has been approved by AICTE and the institute now has a total of 300 seats.
