4,240 candidates appeared, not one qualified: UPPSC APS result stuns aspirants
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has declared that no candidate has qualified for the next stage of the Additional Private Secretary (APS) Examination 2023.
In a notice issued on June 2, the commission said all 331 vacancies advertised under the recruitment drive have been carried forward after no candidate met the required criteria in the second-stage examination.
The recruitment process was launched to fill 331 Additional Private Secretary posts. The first-stage examination was held on January 7, 2024, and its result was announced on March 4, 2024.
A total of 5,889 candidates cleared the first stage and were shortlisted for the second-stage examination. The second stage was conducted in Lucknow between June 28 and July 18, 2024, in two shifts.
According to UPPSC, 4,240 candidates appeared for the second-stage test, which included Hindi shorthand and Hindi typing. The shorthand test carried 75 marks, while the typing test carried 25 marks.
Under the recruitment rules mentioned in the advertisement, candidates were required to achieve a minimum Hindi shorthand speed of 80 words per minute. The commission said none of the candidates who appeared for the examination could achieve the prescribed speed.
As a result, no candidate has been declared successful for the third stage of the selection process. With no successful candidates, the commission has decided to carry forward all 331 vacancies for future recruitment.
UPPSC has also informed candidates that details related to marks and other examination information will be uploaded on its official website in due course.
