IBPS to implement recruitment process for Pune civic body

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has finalized the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for its recruitment drive. The civic administration will start the recruitment drive in this week.


"The whole process of recruitment will be carried out by the IBPS and the final merit list will be made available to the PMC for recruitment," said Sachin Ithape of PMC's eshtablishments department.


He said that the exam will be held through online mode. Seven centres have been finalised for this exam. PMC is expecting around 5 lakh applications for this drive. It is biggest drive since 2012.


Nearly 500 employees will be recruited in this drive. Staff members for health, fire-brigade and accounts departments will be recruited in this drive.


The department heads have been asked to provide the details about the staff requirements. The vacancies will be announced accordingly.


The data of the civic administration states that PMC is working with half of it's total strength. Over 7,700 posts out of 16,000 are vacant. The recruitment from grade I to IV employees was pending for years, said a civic official.


According to the PMC’s data, the civic administration has to fill up 4,700 posts through direct recruitment process, while nearly 3,000 posts have to be filled through promotion.
