Day 11 of demonetisation: Key developments

On the eleventh day since the ban on the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes was announced, the Income Tax department issued notices based on reports of unusually large cash deposits, farmers threatened to stop supplying milk to Amul in Surat, and it was reported that top bankers didn't know about the demonetisation announcement before the rest of the country.


Yesterday, banks decided to only serve depositors who were their own customers on Saturday, but made an exception for senior citizens.
