Facing issues with Reliance Jio SIM? 5 tips to fix
The big roll-out day has finally arrived. Mukesh Ambani’s ambitious venture into the telecom sector – Reliance Jio has hit the market today. Though many of you might be heading out to obtain the SIM, some among those who already are in possession of one are not happy with the roll-out process.
According to a few early birds, the SIM card isn’t working on all handsets. There can be several reasons to this. Here are a few ways to fix some issues:
Israel Iran War

According to a few early birds, the SIM card isn’t working on all handsets. There can be several reasons to this. Here are a few ways to fix some issues:
- Firstly, if your phone is only 2G/3G compatible you won’t be able to use the Jio SIM. You need to first check the network connection specifications on the box in which your device arrived. If it doesn’t support 4G, you can’t get the SIM.
- Secondly, though the company has mentioned the process to port in to its network, requests are yet to be registered with the company. Hence if you’re one who doesn’t want to change your number, you won’t be able to use Jio (at least for the time being).
- Those with a dual SIM phone with 4G-enabled on only one of the slots need to insert the Jio SIM card on the 4G-enabled slot and not any other.
- For those who already have the SIM and are unable to make calls, or receive ‘not registered’ prompts, or are with any signal bars, switch off your phone and reinsert the SIM in the primary slot of your phone. Ensure that the data option is switched on for the primary slot and is set to an LTE/4G configuration.
- If problems persist, perhaps you’re missing out on the most important step – downloading the MyJio app. The SIM won’t work till you activate it through the app. Worse come to worst, if you’re still unable to start operations, probably you’ll need to upgrade your device.
