5 weird things guys face on Tinder in India
Tinder should definitely not be confused as just another social platform. Its reputation is something earned from its ‘successful users’ mostly and not something Tinder officially boasts. It is not difficult to assume as to why someone is opting to be on Tinder, however, things are perceived a bit differently in India.
Uncomfortable with the directness, people try their best to hide the first thought of .... Worst, some even confuse Tinder with Facebook and Twitter and claim to have joined just for meaningful conversations. Seriously?
Here are five weird things guys face on Tinder. Of course, there is a huge list for girls too (coming soon). Feel free to share your list of ‘weird things guys do on Tinder’ in the comments section below.
1) Profile Pics with boyfriends/husbands or groupies: This is how Tinder reacts to profile pictures with husbands or boy friends — Looking for a threesome or more? Or, two-timing may? Or, may be to declare the minimum standards. It is understandable that Tinder automatically borrows pictures from Facebook but at least take the pains of updating it unless the motive is actually one of the above.
2) ‘Here for conversations only’ types: Heard about something called Twitter? It is among the best platforms to share knowledge and hold meaningful conversations with people you hardly meet. Some Tinder profiles categorical state -- “No hookups, no meetups, only conversations and I will block you if you are not a good at holding conversations.” Only talking on Tinder. Seriously? No wonder the guy who swipes right will make every attempt to make you do otherwise.
3) That cute doggie or actress photos: What sense can someone make of that cute puppy or actress as the only Tinder profile picture. Everyone knows that you are nowhere close to that actress and how can cute puppies land you with a date? There is always the option of deleting a Tinder account, in case you are so uninterested.
4) ‘Looking for true love’ types: While there might be countless examples of people getting married with people they met on Tinder, this doesn’t mean that the app is competing with the likes of Shaadi.com. No, Tinder is really not an idle place to look for marriage partners. Some profiles make guys feel that the moment they swipe right, by any chance, they will get married! Sorry to disappoint, but Tinder is not a matrimonial platform. So, it is better to save — “I am looking for true love ... and.. I can cook, dance, etc, etc” for some place else.
5) Profile pictures with kids: Besides the first query -- is it her baby or not, what exactly should guys make out of profiles with happy family pictures? Ideally, babies help in keeping away the so-called bad guys, also babies have little role to play in igniting your dating life either. Alternatively, if you are so happy with your baby and family, isn’t it better to step out of Tinder?
